Aaron Rodgers Confirms He Believes He’s Among The Smartest People Alive
Aaron Rodgers’ personality has proven to be many things, but being shy and lacking confidence is not among them.
Not only does Rodgers infamously believe in “doing his own research,” but he now seems to think that that research has made him among the smartest people alive, at least as far as his Twitter activity suggests, as the 40-year-old New York Jets quarterback liked a Tuesday, April 30 tweet that put “People who never took the vaccine even after all the social pressure” atop something called the “Pyramid of Intellect.”
The photo from a blue-check-marked account called @illuminatibot Rodgers’ self-perceived intelligence above people with Ph. Ds, Master’s Degrees, Bachelor’s Degrees, Associate’s Degrees, and High School Diplomas, suggesting Rodgers believes he is in the top percentile of humanity’s intelligence.
While Rodgers may not be worried about his brain, his body is a different story, as the former Packer signal-caller lasted just four snaps during the 2023 season before going down with a torn Achilles.
If you don’t count those fateful four plays against the Buffalo Bills, it will have been 19 months since he took snaps during a regular season game by the time Rodgers steps onto the field for the start of the 2024 season, which came as a member of the Packers during their season-ending loss to the Detroit Lions on January 8, 2023.
With head coach Robert Saleh now entering his fourth season as the Jets head coach and not a single playoff appearance to show for it, the former 49ers defensive coordinator is undoubtedly coaching for his job, which means that Rodgers is likely playing for his, as well. Despite being the third betting favorite to win the AFC East behind the Bills and Miami Dolphins, making the playoffs is the minimum requirement for this team.
If Saleh were to be canned, general manager Joe Douglas, who has now been the Jets GM for five years, would likely be on the chopping block, too, therefore making it difficult to imagine a new Jets regime that’s introduced in 2025 committing to a 41-year-old quarterback with a major injury and zero playoff appearances since 2021.
