LeBron James Doubles Down That He Is The ‘G.O.A.T.’ During Hilarious Exchange With His Son

LeBron James GOAT

LeBron James is the greatest player of the modern era of the NBA. That cannot be debated.

However, is he the greatest player in the history of the league?

LeBron thinks so. The 39-year-old doubled down on his belief that he is the G.O.A.T. while shooting around with his youngest son, Bryce, on Thursday night.

They were going shot-for-shot from way downtown in the driveway and the entire exchange was hilarious. It was a fun behind-the-scenes look at the most famous family in basketball. Just guys getting up shots.

And then it took a twist when Bryce joking called his dad “trash” before he attempted a deep triple.

LeBron responded by labeling himself as the best to ever do it. The four-time NBA champion declared himself as the G.O.A.T.

Why you acting like that? Like this ain’t what I do. This is what I do, I’m GOAT bro, G. O. A. T. what’re you talk ’bout stop playing with me, man.

— LeBron James

This, of course, is a highly-debated topic. LeBron is either No. 1 or No. 2 behind Michael Jordan. It would be hard to imagine that there is a basketball fan out there who has not argued with his or her friends about this topic at least three times in his or her life. Who is the greatest of all-time?!

LeBron believes it is him. His quip on Bryce’s Instagram story was not the first time that he has said so.

The first comments came after Cleveland beat Golden State in the 2016 NBA Finals.

That moment I was like, “I am the greatest basketball player people have ever seen in all facets.” Like, I can play 1 to 5, I can guard 1 to 5, just literally like doing something that’s never been done in the history of the sport. Teams that go down 3-1 were like 0 for 32 in Finals history. There was nobody ever coming out o there and nobody gave us a chance. I just felt like ain’t nobody better than me at this.

We know where LeBron James stands on the discourse. Michael Jordan surely considers himself to be the greatest of all-time. Neither NBA legend will be willing to concede their status atop of the sport, which leaves it to the fans.

The younger generation largely sides with the younger player. The older generation leans the other way.

Should LeBron lead this Lakers team to a title, it would get him one step closer to Jordan’s six NBA championships. Two more would be hard to deny…
