Joakim Noah Still Haunted By Anti-Cleveland Comments 14 Years Later And Got Called Out By D.J. In The Club
Former NBA All-Star Joakim Noah is not a fan favorite in Cleveland. In fact, you could say the opposite.
Cleveland hates Joakim Noah because Joakim Noah hated (hates?) Cleveland.
It is something of a mutual hostility that dates back more than a decade. People have not forgotten!
Noah, who played the majority of his career with the Chicago Bulls after being drafted No. 9 overall in 2007, famously dissed the second-largest city in Ohio during the playoffs. He and his team lost in five games to LeBron James and the Cavaliers during the Eastern Conference First Round.
At some point during the series, Noah sat down in front of a microphone and delivered the comments that stick with him to this day.
The 6-foot-11 defensive standout torched the city of Cleveland. He called it “pretty depressing” during a pregame interview and then doubled down during a press conference. Noah said that he has never heard anybody say that they are going to vacation in Cleveland and questioned what is so good about the city.
Of course, Noah’s comments did not go over well with locals. They brought signs to the games. They booed him when he got the ball.
That was 14 years ago.
Even though time heals all (most) wounds, it has not healed this one. Cleveland still holds hatred for Noah, even though he is four years retired from the NBA at 39 years old.
A D.J. at the club recently stopped his music mid-set to heckle Noah. The D.J. was from the Forest City. He wanted to let the former NBAer know that his comments are still following him wherever he goes.

No matter how far removed Joakim Noah is from the infamous Cleveland hate, and no matter how hard he tries to make amends, Cavs fans will not let them go!
