U2 Makes The ‘Sphere’ In Las Vegas Disappear With Crazy See-Through Visual Imagery
Did you know that the Sphere in Las Vegas is see-through?! It’s not, but you wouldn’t know based off of an incredible visual at the U2 concert.
With a capacity of 18,000, the Sphere auditorium stands 366 feet tall and 516 feet wide. All of the images are displayed in 18K on the world’s largest LED screen, which is about the size of four football fields. A whopping 164,000 surround-sound speakers make up the audio system.
Each of the images are projected by a series of little LED pucks. Each LED puck contains 38 LED diodes. Every diode can display 256 million colors.
Whether it be Darren Aronofsky’s film ‘Postcard from Earth’ or a concert, the visuals are mind-blowing. One in particular video has captured the internet in recent days.

The Sphere displays the outside on the inside. They turn on a display of the city and project it on the massive LED screen to make it look like the wall between the venue and reality does not exist.
The internet’s most viral entertainment venue first opened on Sept. 29 with Bono, The Edge, and company. Their residency is set to last through mid-February, at which point there are multiple theories about the next performer from Harry Styles to Lady Gaga. We know that it won’t be Kiss.
Anyway, for the next few months, it’s U2. No matter who is playing the show, it continues to be the coolest visual venue in the world. If you didn’t know that the wall was there, you would never know! What a cool display!
