Incredible Scenes At The Big House As 100,000 Michigan Fans Belt ‘Mr. Brightside’ During Field Storm

Michigan adopted The Killers smash hit ‘Mr. Brightside’ as its unofficial football anthem on Oct. 1, 2016 during a game against Wisconsin. It has been a rallying cry in Ann Arbor ever since!
The tradition made for incredible scenes on Saturday.
Third-ranked Michigan defeated second-ranked Ohio State in the 119th edition of ‘The Game’ to silence the haters, stay undefeated, and clinch a spot in the Big Ten title game. Jim Harbaugh and his team are in the driver’s seat for the College Football Playoff once again.
To celebrate the massive win on home soil after a difficult year, the sold-out crowd poured onto the field as soon as the clock hit zero. Not long thereafter, 100,000 fans joined voice to sing Mr. Brightside.
Regardless of whether you love Michigan or hate Michigan, it is impossible not to get chills.
Mr. Brightside, a song from 2003, is about the jealously and paranoia that comes when someone expects his/her partner of cheating on him/her. There is no tie between The Killers, a Las Vegas band, and the Wolverines.
It seems like an odd choice, when there are so many other songs that either relate to the blue and maize, or provide a less depressing, more inspiring message. And yet, the song creates one of the most exhilarating environments in college football.
As soon as the famous guitar riff starts to play, the crowd joins in with lead vocalist Brandon Flowers.
COMING OUT OF MY CAGE AND I’VE BEEN DOING JUST FINE!
The electric sing-a-long continues from there, as it did ahead of the fourth quarter on Saturday.
This is what college football is all about! Guys and girls being dudes and belting out a rock song about a cheating spouse without a care in the world after watching their team beat its biggest rival in the school’s biggest game in recent history.
