After an amazing round of sixteen filled with more upsets than a spoiled kid who doesn’t get his way, we are on to the next round and man we have some great ones to look forward to. Personally, I’m about as excited for this Creighton/San Diego State game as a kid on Christmas, so here is what you need to know to make the most out of this sweet offer from DraftKings.

Wow. San Diego State really made light work of Bama. Darrion Trammell really stepped up and dropped 21, and an Alabama offense that averages over 80 points per game was held to just 64. Now San Diego State is by no means an offensive juggernaut, but they play good defense coming in at number 25 in the league and defense wins championships. Matt Bradley has also been amazing, leading his team in scoring with 12.8 points a game, and has really stepped up during the tournament. This team has also been great on the boards, especially on the offensive glass which has led to a lot of second chance points being scored. They also rarely turn the ball over, and average 7 steals a game which is almost two more than Creighton. In my opinion San Diego State is more battle tested, with a harder path to this game than Creighton. But why are they not favored?

I will tell you why. It starts with the junior big man Ryan Kalkbrenner who has been great this tournament. 31 points in the first round, 10 in the second, and 22 the other night combined with more glass cleaning than a window washer. Trey Alexander has also turned it on, scoring almost at willand really contributing when it counts. Creighton has 5 players averaging double digits compared to San Diego State who only has one. Creighton averages more than 7 points more a game then San Diego State, and is a top 50 team offensively compared to SD who is barely top 100. Despite some regular season defensive struggles, Creighton seems to have gotten it together on that side of the ball, looking very well rounded like my stomach after Thanksgiving. Overall I think Creighton has just been on a roll, and honestly they’re one of the teams I like to win the whole thing. That all continues with a win against San Diego State.

Vegas likes Creighton and I do too, so take Creighton, and get $150 in bonus bets if you pick the winner with DraftKings.
