Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers are arguably the two best quarterbacks in NFL history. They are also a combined 83 years-old.

At some point their production is going to drop off. Father time, despite the LeBron James and Jason Momoa commercials, is undefeated.

What’s unusual about the drop in production this year from Rodgers and Brady is that they each are coming off perhaps the best years of their careers.

They finished 1-2 in the NFL MVP voting last season, passing for a combined 80 touchdowns with just 10 interceptions.

Seven games into this season, however, Rodgers has the lowest QB rating he’s had since 2015. Brady is at his lowest mark since 2013.

Their teams, both of which were expected to contend for a championship this year are a combined 6-8.

Have Brady and Rodgers passed their expiration dates?

Hall of Famer Kurt Warner thinks it might be time for Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers to retire

“I think both of those guys look like they’re exhausted,” Warner told People this week. “It’s okay to go, ‘You know what? It’s not how it used to be. I may not be who I used to be, or, it’s just too hard overall to get everybody up to the standard. Maybe it is time to walk away.'”

Warner added, “It’s not being defeated. That’s not saying you can’t do it anymore. I just think sometimes that stuff outweighs the joy of the game, which is what it looks like is happening for those two guys and I feel for them.”

He claims he is speaking from experience. After going 10-5 with the Cardinals and passing for 3,753 yards at the age of 38, he decided it was time to call it a career even though he could still play.

“It started to take more and more away from my family and my time, and again, me physically to be able to give them the time and effort that I wanted, because my mind was always on other things,” Warner said, adding, “I mean, I kinda look at Tom Brady now, and that’s how I feel.'”

Prior to last week’s game, a shocking 21-3 loss to the then 1-5 Carolina Panthers, former Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger said he thought “didn’t look like he wanted to be out there,” referring to Tom Brady.

Brady’s response to Roethlisberger’s observations was “I think anytime you lose it’s not very fun for any of us.” Losing to teams like the Panthers isn’t going to make things any better.
