Deion And Shedeur Sanders Reveal Jackson State’s New Throwback Uniforms And They’re Straight Flames

Deion Sanders took over the Jackson State football program in September of 2020. There has been nothing but positive upward momentum since.
After arriving in Mississippi, Sanders promised to bring the Tigers, and HBCU programs, to new heights. So far, he has followed through.
Coach Prime’s first season at the helm came right in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic and it was rather unique. The school was forced to play a spring season alongside the other FCS programs and went 4-3. While it wasn’t a massive shift in success, the team won the same number of games as the full season a year prior.
And then, in 2021, Jackson State turned around and went undefeated in the SWAC, won a conference championship and finished the year 11-2. It was the best record in school history and the only two losses came to an FBS program and in the Celebration Bowl.
At the same time, Sanders and the Tigers have been crushing it on the recruiting trail. Jackson State recorded the highest-ranked recruiting classes for an FBS, HBCU program in the modern era in year one and followed it up by flipping the nation’s top-ranked recruit from Florida State on National Signing Day, sending shockwaves throughout the sport.
In addition, Sanders has secured more money for the program. He has also used his own bank account to fund some of the things that he wants to bring to Jackson State athletics.
Earlier this year, after a significant financial commitment to improve the school’s athletic facilities, Coach Prime led some of his players into the construction and they went absolutely bonkers. And it looks like they are also getting some new jerseys for the fall.
Shedeur Sanders and his head coach father recently revealed the school’s new throwback uniforms. They are simple, clean and classic.

While Under Armour isn’t always the leader in college football uniforms, credit where credit is due here. There wasn’t much to mess up, considering the simplicity, but they nailed it. Jackson State football’s new throwback uniforms are straight flames.
