Lakers Operating As If Russell Westbrook Will Be On Team To Start Season
The Los Angeles Lakers, as well as rival executives, are operating as if Russell Westbrook will be on the team to start next season, sources told Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report.
Pincus adds that rival execs believe the Lakers will have to take on players making $15-$25 million with two to four years left on their contract, or send out draft picks, should they wish to trade Westbrook.
The Rockets reportedly only considered a John Wall-for-Westbrook trade if they received draft compensation.
New Lakers head coach Darvin Ham publicly supported Westbrook during his opening press conference.
