With the No. 25 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, the Baltimore Ravens selected Iowa center Tyler Linderbaum to help beef up its offensive line. Literally.

When it comes to college football, the Big Ten is notorious its ground-and-pound style of play. None more than the Hawkweyes.

At the forefront of the offensive schemes are the Big Uglies. Corn and beef-fed midwesterners line up in the trenches and put their bodies on the line with every snap to pave the way for their running backs and keep their quarterbacks from getting pummeled.

No single lineman epitomizes the Big Ten like new Ravens center Tyler Linderbaum, who stands 6-foot-2, 297 pounds.

After beginning his collegiate career on the defensive side of the ball, Linderbaum moved to center in 2019 and immediately earned the starting job. That was again the case in 2020 and he was named an All-American.

Last season, he really took things up another notch. Linderbaum was not only a unanimous All-American, but he was named the most outstanding center in college football and the best lineman in the conference.

As a result, the Iowa-native was a first rounder and is slated to step right into the starting job in Baltimore this fall. In the meantime, he is participating in team workouts and getting used to the NFL.

However, Linderbaum says that there isn’t much of a transition to be made. He recently spoke with reporters after a workout and offered an incredible “football guy” quote about getting adjusted.

While doing so, he rocked a skin-tight white t-shirt that was drenched in sweat. His beefiness was on full display.

Technically speaking, Linderbaum is actually considered to be on the smaller side for a center. Could’ve fooled me.
