Lakers To Fire Frank Vogel, Conduct Expansive Search For Next Head Coach

The Los Angeles Lakers will fire Frank Vogel as head coach with the news reported shortly after their final regular season game.

Vogel had not been informed of the decision when the report surfaced following their 146-141 overtime win at the Denver Nuggets.

"I haven't been told s--- and I'm going to enjoy tonight's game, celebrate what these young guys did in terms of scratching and clawing and getting back in this game and getting a W, and we'll deal with tomorrow, tomorrow," he told reporters during his postgame media availability.

The Lakers don't have a clear-cut frontrunner for the job and plan to conduct an expansive and lengthy search.
