Atlanta Dream Select Rhyne Howard No. 1 In 2022 WNBA Draft
The Atlanta Dream selected Rhyne Howard of Kentucky with the No. 1 pick in the 2022 WNBA draft.
The Washington Mystics won the lottery, but the Dream traded up from No. 3 to draft Howard.
The 6-foot-2 Howard, the SEC Player of the Year as a sophomore and a junior, averaged 20.5 points and 7.4 rebounds during her senior season, leading the Wildcats in points, rebounds, 3-pointers, steals and blocks.
Baylor's NaLyssa Smith went second to the Indiana Fever while Shakira Austin of Ole Miss went No. 3 to the Mystics.
