Nets Fined $50K For Violation Of New York City Law And NBA Protocols
The Brooklyn Nets were fined $50,000 for violating New York City law and the NBA's health and safety protocols. Brooklyn was fined for allowing Kyrie Irving into the team's locker room during the game against the New York Knicks on Sunday.
As an unvaccinated performer, Irving is allowed to attend Nets games in New York, but he cannot perform any official duties on behalf of the team. This includes playing in games or interacting with the team in any direct way.
The NBA has warned clubs that they are to follow all local laws and mandates. Failure to do so will result in fines and possible further punishments.
