Lincoln Riley is making $110 million to be the head coach of University of Southern California football and he recently shelled out one-sixth of his contract on a place to live. Property records show that the 38-year-old purchased a beautiful new estate in Ranchos Palos Verdes for $17.15 million on March 1, 2022 and it is rather luxurious.

The Spanish Revival-style home, which sits on a gated, 3.17-acre bluff that overlooks the Pacific Ocean, was once the residence of Fred Roessler, the first mayor of Palos Verdes Estates. Now it belongs to Riley.

On the outside, the stucco and terracotta-roof structure sits behind a circular motorcourt. From there, double Old World-style doors open to a beautiful courtyard with a fountain.

On the inside, there are seven bedrooms and 12 bathrooms spread across more than 13,000 square feet of living space on two levels. Most of the home is covered in rich hardwood floors or tile and wood beams are featured throughout.

In terms of living space, there is plenty. There is a 790-square-foot, one-bedroom guesthouse on the property and a five-car garage attached to the house.

And that barely scratches the surface.

Riley’s new home has seven fireplaces, a movie theater, tennis court, putting green, sauna and steam rooms, a 600-bottle wine room and even an elevator.

That list of amenities doesn’t even include the pool, outdoor kitchen or the secret gardens.

The property, built in the 1920s, went through stages of expansion and reconstruction between 2003 and 2006. The goal was to keep the old-school, historic feel without sacrificing modern luxury.

It’s remarkable. Meanwhile, Riley is also in the process of selling two homes in Norman, Oklahoma.

Riley is now the third-straight USC coach to live in Palos Verdes and it’s not hard to see why. His new place is absolutely stunning.

The only downside to the new crib is that Riley’s commute to USC is about 40 minutes without traffic. With traffic, it could be upwards of two hours.

Either way, it’s worth the drive.
