  • Tom Brady announced on Sunday that we would be returning to the NFL for a 23rd season.
  • Brady’s retirement lasted just 40 days.
  • TB12’s pal Rob Gronkowski hasn’t made an official decision on his future but was recently caught on camera showing his hand.

After spending 40 days as a retiree, seven-time Super Bowl champion and future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady announced that he was going to return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a historic 23rd season at the age of 45-years-old.

“These past two months I’ve realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands,” Brady said on social media.

With Brady back with the Bucs, the franchise — which was previously considered to be in rebuild-mode following Brady’s initial retirement — is now in win-now-mode. They’ve already made some moves in free agency, as they’ve retained center Ryan Jensen and cornerback Carlton Davis, while also signing former Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Russell Gage.

One player from the Super Bowl-winning team whose future remains in flux, though, is Brady’s BFF Rob Gronkowski, who’s currently a free agent. Now that TB12 is back with the Bucs, though, maybe Gronk won’t be a free agent for much longer, at least if these latest caught-on-camera comments are to be believed (which they should be, because there’s no talk as real as barbershop talk).

Gronk, who will be 33-years-old before next season begins, played in 12 games last season, catching 55 passes for 802 yards and six touchdowns. The future Hall of Famer, who was originally drafted by the New England Patriots back in 2010, has spent his entire career catching passes from Brady.
