Kirk Herbstreit is going to be a very busy man during the 2022 football season. The football analyst already had a full plate as things stood, but he’s added another role for the 2022 season. His new endeavor involves the NFL and not college football.
According to Peter King, Amazon is set to finalize a deal with Herbstreit to be the main analyst for Thursday Night Football.
College football fans have nothing to worry about, however, Herbstreit is still expected to remain on with College GameDay and call college football games with ESPN and ABC throughout the upcoming season as well.
Amazon’s first choice may have been Troy Aikman for the role, but landing Herbstreit certainly isn’t a bad move. Herbstreit is without question one of the most-liked football analysts out there, and it’ll be interesting to see how he handles the No. 1 spot for Thursday Night Football next season.
Now Amazon will be looking to add a big name for play-by-play man to sit alongside Herbstreit on Thursday nights.
