College Baseball Coach Fired Over Horrible Accusations Of Abuse Including Phallic ‘Helicopter’ Swings

The University of San Francisco fired Nino Giarratano as its head baseball coach on Sunday morning. Giarratano, who had been the Dons’ head coach since 199, is currently being sued by former players over wild accusations about program culture.
The class-action lawsuit, which was filed on Friday, alleges that Giarratano and former assistant Troy Nakamura were leading a program that “included persistent psychological abuse and repeated inappropriate sexual conduct.” After reviewing the lawsuit, Giarratano was fired.
Of the many allegations, one stands out in particular.
The unidentified players claim that their former assistant coach would swing his junk around on a very consistent basis. It was commonplace.
“It was ‘normal’ to see [Nakamura] naked on the field or in a window, swinging his penis in a helicopter fashion while the entire team — and [Giarratano] — watched.”
As for Giarratano, he is accused of overseeing an environment that “”included persistent psychological abuse and repeated inappropriate sexual conduct.”
One player said that he once berated him with expletives to try and get him to leave the program. The player, who had a significant four-year scholarship entered the transfer portal earlier this year.
Another player outlined a pattern of abuse within the program that resulted in five emergency room visits. He also left the program.
The third player says that Giarratano told him that nobody liked him, neither his teammates nor his coaches, and said he was a waste of space. He also says that the former head coach told him that he wanted to swing a bat at his head to get his brain to work.
In addition, the lawsuit alleges that multiple players have become suicidal as a result of their coaches’ behavior. It does not provide any additional context.
As the lawsuit continues to work its way through the legal system, Giarratano and Nakamura are no longer with the program. The former was fired on Sunday after the latter was fired in January.
