Kings Waive Matt Coleman, D.J. Steward

The Sacramento Kings waived Matt Coleman and D.J. Steward. The Kings roster now stands at 18 players. Sacramento has one more cut to make to get into regular season roster compliance.

Coleman was signed in late-September to a non-guaranteed training camp contract. The guard appeared briefly in three preseason games for the Kings. Coleman went undrafted out of Texas at the 2021 NBA Draft before playing in Las Vegas Summer League for Sacramento.

Steward also went undrafted at the 2021 NBA Draft. The point guard played one season at Duke before entering the draft. He also played in Las Vegas Summer League for the Kings. Steward appeared in just one preseason contest. Steward's deal was also a non-guaranteed training camp contract.

Both Coleman and Steward are expected to join the Stockton Kings of the G League as Affiliate Players.
