Billie Eilish Announces Her First-Ever Fragrance ‘Eilish’
Billie Eilish is getting ready to make her debut in the beauty industry. On Wednesday (Oct. 20), the “Happier Than Ever” singer sat down for an interview with Vogue, where she revealed she will be releasing her first-ever fragrance, titled Eilish, in November.
“Perfumes have been one of my greatest joys in life, and I’ve always wanted to make one,” the seven-time Grammy winner told the magazine. “And not as Billie Eilish, not as an artist, not as a singer; I wanted to make a perfume to have a perfume. It has nothing to do with me, I’m just branding it so that people see it.”
Fans looking to purchase the fragrance — which features a faceless female bust in gold that is not a replica of Eilish’s silhouette — can expect it to be heavy on the vanilla, as the singer explained in the interview that the scent is at the core of her childhood. Amber, gourmand and musk are also key notes that buyers can expect from the fragrance.
“I’ve always been in love with vanilla, since I was a kid and my mom would teach me to bake,” the 19-year-old shared, though she initially disliked the taste as a child. “Vanilla is such a…a loved smell…but, for me, that was really how I felt like I wanted to smell, and just my favorite smell.”
As for the bottle design, Eilish said she has “always had an infatuation with backs and collarbones and just like, bones and bodies” and “didn’t want to have [the bottle design] be a certain body type.”
“I wanted it to feel like you could see anybody in it, and you could be it. … I like the idea that you can see the person that you are in love with in it, somehow; I feel like it could match anybody, almost — or you.”
The singer expressed excitement about releasing her debut fragrance on Instagram. “I am SO EXCITED to finally share my debut fragrance ‘Eilish’ with you!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! this is a scent that i’ve been chasing for years and years. this is my favorite smell in the WORLD,” she wrote. “Fragrance has always been such an enormous part of my life and existence since i can remember, and it was a dream to create this scent and bring my ideas to life. this has been one of the most exciting things i’ve ever done. i can’t wait for it to be yours so soon!!!!!”
The forthcoming fragrance is Eilish’s first offering since the release of her Billboard 200-topping sophomore album Happier Than Ever. The perfume has no official release date yet, but fans looking to buy can sign up for early access and updates at billieeilishfragrances.com.
