I’ve always found “What’s your favorite beer?” to be a notoriously tricky question to answer. Based on my Untappd ratings, there are about a dozen different brews in the running, but I also have a special place in my heart for the High Life I popped open after completing the most stressful move of my entire life in addition to a classic response to the aforementioned question: “Whatever’s free.”
On Sunday, Bill Belichick had one of the first opportunities to really celebrate since Tom Brady decided to take his talents to Tampa Bay. The Patriots may have gotten off to yet another rough start this season, but New England was clicking on all cylinders against the Jets on their way to a 53-14 victory in Foxborough.
Following the contest, Belichick headed to the Optum Lounge located near one of the endzones at Gillette Stadium with Matt Patricia and a few other members of the organization to commemorate the win, where the head coach was spotted treating himself to a Budweiser (Patricia opted to go with a Corona).
On Monday, Belichick called into The Greg Hill Show on WEEI to reflect on the rout, the progress the Patriots have made, and a few other topics—including his beer of choice. While the coach could’ve seized the opportunity to namedrop a particular brew and more than likely had a few cases sent his way as a result, he instead opted to give an incredibly on-brand answer to the query.
