Timberwolves, Jordan McLaughlin Agree To Three-Year Contract

#DmtDaily

The Minnesota Timberwolves have agreed to a three-year deal with restricted free agent Jordan McLaughlin. McLaughlin has played the last two years on a Two-Way contract with Minnesota.

Despite his status as a Two-Way player, McLaughlin became a regular rotation player for the Wolves in both 2019-20 and 2020-21. Over that time, he's played in 81 games (four starts) and averaged 18.9 minutes per game. McLaughlin has put up averages of 5.9 points, 3.9 assists and 1.1 steals over two seasons in the NBA.

Following a successful rookie year on a Two-Way, McLaughlin had trouble finding traction on a standard contact due to his restricted free agent status. That led him to re-signing with the Timberwolves on a second Two-Way deal. McLaughlin again outperformed that contract and has now found some long-term security on a standard deal.
