Nets Don't Tender Isaia Cordinier

The Brooklyn Nets did not offer Isaia Cordinier the required tender to retain his draft rights. Cordinier will now become an NBA free agent.

The 6'5'' guard out of France was originally drafted by the Atlanta Hawks with the 44th pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. Cordinier's draft rights were traded to Brooklyn in 2018 in a trade that sent Jeremy Lin to the Hawks. Cordinier has played with both Atlanta (twice) and Brooklyn (once) at Las Vegas Summer League in recent seasons.

Since being drafted in 2016, Cordinier has continued to play in France for Antibes and Nanterre 92. In 2020-21, for Nanterre 92, Cordinier averaged 13.1 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.6 assists over 47 games (all starts).

NBA teams are required to offer second round picks a contract tender in order to retain their draft rights. That tender must be for at least a one-season contract, which can be fully non-guaranteed. If a team fails to offer the required tender, the player's draft rights are renounced and they become an NBA free agent.
