This Mississippi Town Will Pay You $6K To Move There

Has your regular job transformed into a work from home occupation during the pandemic and now you’re now thinking about a change of scenery? Have you considered moving to Mississippi? One town in the Magnolia State is incentivizing people across the United States to relocate to their inviting community.
Natchez, Mississippi, is giving remote workers a financial perk to entice people to move. Natchez is a town with a population of approximately 15,000 people, and is the 25th-largest city in the state. Natchez was originally established by French colonists in 1716, and named for the Natchez tribe of Native Americans.
The town of Natchez will pay you $6,000 to move there. The monetary incentive includes up to $2,500 in moving expenses, plus a $300 monthly stipend for a year to offset living costs, according to Fox News.
Those taking advantage of the offer will need to purchase a property in Natchez with a minimum value of $150,000 while keeping their remote job. Median homes listing prices in Natchez are $168,000, well below the U.S. national average of $295,000. But there is a $1.5 million mansion overlooking the Mississippi River that looks divine and is currently for sale. The new residents must live at the property for at least one year.
The financial reward for moving is powered by the city’s new Shift South program.
