Shannon Sharpe, LeBron James And Others Blast Pee-Wee Football Coach Who Slapped 9-Year-Old Player On The Sideline
Earlier this week a video went viral showing a youth football coach hitting a 9-year-old child multiple times during a Pee Wee championship game in Kissimmee, Florida.
the coach, who has been identified as Gerrel Williams, has been fired and charged with child abuse but that’s not enough for Shannon Sharpe. Sharpe took to Twitter and had some strong words for the coach.
LeBron James saw Shannon’s tweet and joined in.
NFL legend Bruce Smith also sounded off on the coach and the parents who didn’t step up for the kid.
“Coaches are supposed to protect kids. They’re supposed to mentor kids and make sure they’re in a safe environment,” Smith said.
“Just as disturbing as the attack was, I was even more concerned and outraged that none of the other adults stepped in.”
