Jawsh 685, Jason Derulo and BTS’ “Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat)” vaults to No. 1, from No. 8, on the Billboard Global 200 chart, while BLACKPINK’s “Lovesick Girls” launches at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart.

The two charts (the latest of which are dated Oct. 17) premiered last month and rank songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by Nielsen Music/MRC Data. The Billboard Global 200 is inclusive of worldwide data and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart comprises data from territories excluding the U.S.

Chart rankings are based on a weighted formula incorporating official-only streams on both subscription and ad-supported tiers of audio and video music services, as well as download sales, the latter of which reflect purchases from full-service digital music retailers from around the world, with sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites excluded from the charts’ calculations.

‘Savage Love’ Leaps to No. 1 on Billboard Global 200

“Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat),” by New Zealand native Jawsh 685, U.S.-born Jason Derulo and South Korea’s BTS, surges 8-1 on the Billboard Global 200 chart following the Oct. 2 arrival of two new BTS remixes. The track reigns with 77.5 million global streams (up 90% from a week earlier) and 62,000 global downloads sold (up 283%) in the week ending Oct. 8.

BTS becomes the first act to have tallied multiple No. 1s on the Global 200, as “Savage Love” follows the septet’s “Dynamite,” which has spent a week at the summit and this week slips from No. 2 to No. 3.

South Korean acts boast three songs in the Global 200’s top three, as, in between BTS’ two tracks, BLACKPINK’s “Lovesick Girls” launches at No. 2. The song is from the quartet’s first LP, The Album, released Oct. 2.

Cardi B’s “WAP,” featuring Megan Thee Stallion, drops to No. 4 after three weeks atop the Global 200 and 24kGoldn’s “Mood,” featuring iann dior, dips to No. 5 from its No. 3 high.

Elsewhere in the Global 200’s top 10, 21 Savage and Metro Boomin debut two collaborations from their new album Savage Mode II, released Oct. 2, as “Runnin” and “Mr. Right Now” (the latter featuring Drake) bound in at Nos. 9 and 10, respectively.

‘Lovesick Girls’ Launches at No. 1 on Billboard Global 200 Excl. U.S.

BLACKPINK’s “Lovesick Girls,” sung in English and Korean, soars in No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, thanks to 114 million streams and 17,000 downloads sold in territories outside the U.S. in the week ending Oct. 8.

Over the chart’s first five weeks, acts from beyond the U.S. have monopolized the top spot. South Korea represents the four most recent frames at No. 1, thanks to BLACKPINK and BTS, whose “Dynamite” led the last three weeks, while Maluma, from Colombia, ruled the inaugural ranking with “Hawái.”

“Dynamite” drops to No. 2 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart, followed in the top five by Jawsh 685, Jason Derulo and BTS’ “Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat),” up 6-3 for a new peak; 24kGoldn’s “Mood,” down to No. 4 from its No. 2 best; and “Hawái” (3-5).

The Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts (dated Oct. 17) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (Oct. 13). For both charts, the top 100 titles are available to all readers on Billboard.com, while the complete 200-title rankings are visible on Billboard Pro, Billboard’s subscription-based service.
