Adam Silver Privately Surprised By Low TV Ratings For Finals

Television viewership for sports across the board is down currently given the increase in competition amongst one another and also an increased focused on the news with a national election less than a month away. While the NBA Finals is down 45 percent, the final round of the US Open (golf) was down 56 percent and the US Open (tennis) was down 45 percent.
Silver is aiming for next year's Finals to not compete in a crowded sports month of October. The 20-21 season is scheduled to begin in late January or early February.
