Saul Williams Signs With Knitting Factory for Management

Knitting Factory Management has signed renowned musician, actor, and director Saul Williams, manager Aaron Johnson announced today.
“Saul Williams is a fiercely creative and independent artist, and I am excited and honored to get to work with him on all the projects he is working on.” Johnson says of the signing with Knitting Factory Entertainment’s management unit. “Saul is just the artist the world needs right now, and it’s my job to help him get his art and his words out there to as many people as possible.”
Knitting Factory Entertainment chief executive Morgan Margolis echoed Johnson’s sentiments, telling Billboard, “Saul is a perfect fit for KFM. He complements our roster of artists in an almost unique way and has an impressive range of talent in almost all fields of artistic endeavor.”
Saul Williams first came to wide public attention following his star turn in director Marc Levin’s Sundance’s Grand Jury Prize-winning film SLAM, which also captured Cannes’ Camera D’Or in 1998.
As an actor, Williams was a series regular on CW’s Girlfriends and has appeared in a number of films including: K-PAX, Lackawanna Blues, New York, I Love You, and Aujourd’hui, which won The Prize of the City at The Venice Film Festival. He stars in the film Akilla’s Escape, which just made its world premiere on September 13 at TIFF and is currently working on his own directorial debut Neptune Forest.
In 2014, Saul made his Broadway debut as the lead in Broadway’s first hip-hop musical, Holler If Ya Hear Me, based on the lyrics and poetry of Tupac Shakur.
Saul has performed in over 30 countries and read his poetry at over 300 universities, with invitations that have spanned from like The White House, The Sydney Opera House and Queen Elizabeth Hall to villages, townships, community centers and prisons worldwide. Saul has published five books of poetry which have been translated into several languages. His writings and lesson plans surrounding his work have been added to the curriculum of schools and universities around the world.
As a musician, Saul has released six albums and toured or collaborated with dozens of artists from Kanye West and Erykah Badu to Nine Inch Nails and Rage Against The Machine.
