H.E.R. Covers ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’ for 2020 Emmys In Memoriam

H.E.R. made a somber statement at the 2020 Emmy Awards.

During the ceremony, the singer performed “Nothing Compares 2 U” to honor those lost this year. H.E.R’s version of the song — written by Prince and famously covered by Sinead O’Connor —  perfectly soundtracked the reel of stars who died recently.

Wearing custom Vera Wang, H.E.R.’s beautiful voice soared as she paid tribute to those who passed away.

Chadwick Boseman, Regis Philbin, Naya Rivera, Adam Schlesinger, and Diahann Caroll were among the remembered.

Prior to the performance, host Jimmy Kimmel also honored Ruth Bader Ginsberg, the Supreme Court justice who died Friday night (Sept. 18).
