Frank Zummo has released the video for his new single “E.O.T.E” featuring indie singer-songwriter dying in designer, two days ahead of the release of his forthcoming EP It’s My War on Sept. 25.

Zummo is the longtime drummer for punk outfit Sum 41 and is releasing his new EP on Bite This!, the trailblazing label launched by DJ and producer Jauz.

“I first met Jauz backstage at my Sum 41 Hollywood Palladium show one year ago and here we are putting out my debut EP on his amazing label,” Zummo tells Billboard. “Jauz and his team have so much passion and creativity. Basically, it’s everything I dreamt of having from a label. For me, the EP itself is all about freedom, positivity, and stepping out of my comfort zone.”

“E.O.T.E. was the record that really sold me on this EP,” Jauz explains. “I could hear so many different influences in it – elements of my old metalcore days, elements from the dance world which I’m very familiar with, wrapped up in a package that feels almost more like a twenty one pilots-esque indie-pop record than either a metal song or a dance record. It’s a song I would listen to in the car for fun, which is a pretty bold statement for myself because nowadays I listen to almost no dance music while I’m driving around. I think it’s a super strong record that people will be able to enjoy and vibe to regardless of what genre of music they normally listen to.”

dying in designer adds, “This song is about getting back up and fighting through the obstacles. The sad truth is that more people want you to fail than succeed. You choose your destiny. It’s not about them – it’s about you. So, get out there and make it happen.”

“E.O.T.E.” was directed and edited by Raymond Wei, produced by Zummo with help from line producer Francis Agyapong and junior director of photography Avo John Kambourian.
