A Timeline of Common & Tiffany Haddish’s Relationship

Common and Tiffany Haddish are Hollywood’s latest quarantine couple. But while everyone’s lost track of time during these tumultuous few months, we’ve decided to retrace their steps.

Billboard compiled a timeline of the rapper and comedian’s budding love while staying indoors.

2019 – Common is cast as Haddish’s love interest in the movie The Kitchen

Like any Hollywood couple, things started heating up between the two on-screen before they eventually took things off-screen. Haddish and Common first met on the set of The Kitchen, a crime film set in the late 1970s where she was cast as one of the lead actresses, and he played her love interest. Her character Ruby O’Carroll is the wife of an Irish mobster who wants to take over crime operations in New York’s Hell’s Kitchen following their husband’s arrest by the FBI, and Common’s character Gary Silvers is an FBI agent who’s hunting O’Carroll down.

May 2019 – Haddish gets on Bumble, but Bumble approaches her much later with a charitable opportunity and she recruits Common to join her

During her July 30-dated interview on Steve-O’s Wild Ride podcast, the Girls Trip actress said she got on the dating app Bumble and started talking with guys in LA and NYC long before Bumble approached her with a proposal tied to the coronavirus pandemic.

“I had been talking to Common, and hanging out… like he comes to play spades with me and my friends and stuff,” she told the podcast host. “And then I mentioned it to him, and at this point our friendship was getting a little more than friendship but not quite ’cause COVID happened and we’re like quarantined.” She explained to him how the soon-to-be couple could help out frontline workers and kids by working with Bumble, and he was more than onboard with the program.

April 22, 2020 – Common goes on his first virtual date with Haddish on Bumble

Before things became official between Common (real name Lonnie Rashid Lynn Jr.) and Haddish, they became official partners with Bumble, and he took her out while indoors. “We talked about our goals, we ordered food (for ourselves and for the frontline workers at hospitals in our community,) and we danced,” he wrote as the caption for a video highlight of their romantic night together yet apart.

And like the gentleman he is, Common sent her flowers beforehand and told her at the end of their night in that he’d love to see her again for another Bumble date. Let’s just say the two took their connection offline after that.

April 30, 2020 – The quarantine couple settles in together

Haddish spilled the tea about the two quarantining together on Instagram Live with Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union, after Wade asked her to reveal anything new she had going on in her life. That’s when she panned the camera to reveal the rapper, who was wearing a hot pink gas mask and gloves.

July 30, 2020 – Haddish confirms they’re dating

Haddish confirmed to Steve-O on his Wild Ride podcast, “I am in a relationship,” while revealing how her new bald look matches his perfectly. “We’re twins now… He’s like, ‘Wow, you did it, man. You’ve got a lot of courage. You look so beautiful. I love it,'” she recalled. “And I’m like, ‘Ah, put your head on my head.'”

But they’re bumping bald heads safely after both getting tested for the novel coronavirus. “Then he got tested for everything, I got tested for everything, and yeah, we’ve been f—ing,” she laughed while telling Steve-O. The 40-year-old comedian-actress also disclosed that the 48-year-old rapper-actor is her first celebrity boyfriend and “hands down the best relationship.”

Aug. 7, 2020 – Common opens up about their romance

Piggybacking off of Haddish’s comments, Common came forward during his Live With Kelly and Ryan interview to say he’s never been happier in a relationship. “She’s a wonderful woman, a queen, and just a beautiful person, man,” he told host Ryan Seacrest and journalist Elaine Welteroth. “I just care for her a lot, enjoy her, and am grateful to have her in my life. So yeah, I’m happy!”
