Deadmau5 Signs With UTA in All Areas

UTA has signed deadmau5 for worldwide representation in all areas, the agency announced Thursday (June 25). Under the agreement, UTA will continue developing the DJ and producer’s blockbuster touring business while helping him further expand his content into areas such as gaming, animation, film, philanthropy, entrepreneurial ventures and branding. It will also explore opportunities for his label, mau5trap.

The agency will additionally represent deadmau5’s techno alter ego Testpilot, who has performed at Detroit’s Movement Festival and Ultra’s Resistance stages in both Miami and Ibiza, among other venues.

UTA music agent Cheryl Paglierani and electronic music co-heads Kevin Gimble and Steve Gordon will represent deadmau5 in the live music space. He continues to be represented by SEVEN20 and attorney Dina LaPolt.

Deadmau5, who recently collaborated with The Neptunes on the mau5trap-released single “Pomegranate,” wrapped up his hugely successful cubev3 tour in North America in February. The 39-date, 17-city run sold over 150,000 tickets and 5,000 VIP packages and brought in $1 million in merch sales, according to UTA.

In May, deadmau5 headlined Epic Games’ Fortnite Party Royale Premiere, an interactive in-game concert. That appearance was just the latest for the artist in the gaming format; he is also a playable avatar in games and apps including DJ Hero 2, Goat Simulator and Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff.

A six-time Grammy nominee, deadmau5 has released a total of eight studio albums since 2005 and produced hit singles such as “Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff,” “Faxing Berlin,” “Aural Psynapse,” “Sofi Needs A Ladder,” “There Might Be Coffee” and “Some Chords.” He is widely acknowledged as one of the key forces in mainstreaming electronic music, having become the first electronic music artist to perform on Lollapalooza’s main stage in 2011.
