With the NBA expecting to conclude the 20-21 season by October 12th, the NBA draft and the opening of free agency are expected to follow in sequential order in October.

The draft is typically held on the first Thursday following the last possible day allocated to The Finals in June.

Free agency begins on July 1st though the NBA moved it up to the late afternoon of June 30th last year.
