‘Unforgettable’ Achievement: Godsmack Scores Fourth Mainstream Rock No. 1 From ‘When Legends Rise’ Album

After landing three No. 1s on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Songs airplay chart off an album for the first time, Godsmack extends its haul to four and enters even loftier territory historically.
The band’s “Unforgettable” rises 2-1 on the list dated May 16, marking four No. 1s from its 2018 album When Legends Rise. The song follows “Bulletproof” (May-June 2018) and the title track (December 2018-January 2019), each of which ruled for five weeks, and two-week ruler “Under Your Scars” (July-August 2019).
How many albums have produced at least four Mainstream Rock Songs No. 1s each? When Legends Rise is now one of just five LPs to do so. The Black Crowes first earned the achievement with four leaders from 1992’s The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion, while Shinedown’s Attention Attention was inducted into the club in February. Shinedown is the only act to earn the honor with two albums.

Concurrently, “Unforgettable” jumps 19-15 on the all-rock-format Rock Airplay chart with 3.6 million audience impressions, up 33%, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.
When Legends Rise, Godsmack’s seventh LP, debuted atop Billboard’s Top Rock Albums chart in May 2018 and has earned 364,000 equivalent album units since its release.
