NBA Owners, Executives Growing Optimistic About Season Resuming, Will Make Decision In 2-4 Weeks
NBA owners and executives were feeling "increasingly positive" about resuming the NBA season following a meeting with Adam Silver, league sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Owners and executives were encouraged by a combination of the league's process towards minimizing health risks, along with players' desires to restart the season.
Players and team officials would likely have to get comfortable with the idea that the season would continue even if players tests positive for COVID-19.
The league will standardize coronavirus testing for all 30 teams should the season resume.
There has been no decision on whether all 30 teams would return, whether regular season games would be played, or if there would be a play-in tournament to give more teams a chance to make the playoffs.
The league will make a decision in 2-4 weeks as it studies the trajectory of cases in states with loosened restrictions, as well as studying how sports leagues across the world are handling their return.
