Listen to the new Childish Gambino album, 3.15.20
Earlier this week, a countdown appeared on the Donald Glover Presents website, which previously hosted a 12-hour stream of the artist’s new and unreleased music. Now, we know that the timer was ticking down to the official release of the music, in the form of an album under Glover’s Childish Gambino alias.
The 12-track record is titled 3.15.20, and the tracklist reflects the album’s name. Only two of the tracks are named – “Algorhythm” and “Time” – while the rest are titled with timestamps (for example, the 21 Savage-featuring “12.38”).
Ariana Grande appears on the album as well – though not officially credited – on “Time”, while Black Panther composer and frequent Donald Glover collaborator Ludwig Göransson has multiple writing and production credits.
Glover has previously suggested that this record will be his last under the Childish Gambino moniker, telling reporters at the 2018 Grammys: “I like endings, I think they’re important to progress.”
“I think if a lot of things had death clauses in them we wouldn’t have a lot of problems in the world, to be honest. I think endings are good because they force things to get better.”
