Lady Gaga’s new all-female playlist features Grimes, SOPHIE, HAIM, and more

Just in time for International Women’s Day, Lady Gaga has dropped a curated, all-female playlist on Apple Music, titled “Women of Choice”.
According to its description, the playlist is intended to celebrate “fellow women musicians who are reinventing the intersection of pop and club music”. Music from SOPHIE’s debut album, OIL OF EVERY PEARL'S UN-INSIDES, features alongside tracks from Dazed 100er Rosalía, Charli XCX, and St Vincent (and, ofc, Gaga herself).
HAIM appear in the form of their track “Now I’m In It”, which released with a Paul Thomas Anderson-directed visual late last year.
Grimes also gets two spots on the 31-track playlist – with the Miss Anthropocene track “Delete Forever” and the single “We Appreciate Power” – alongside Princess Nokia and more club-oriented music from the likes of The Black Madonna.
As well as International Women’s Day, the playlist celebrates Lady Gaga’s new role as Apple Music’s Artist In Residence, and will be updated every week.
Lady Gaga’s new album, Chromatica, is due to release in April. It is preceded by a space goddess-themed video for her new single, “Stupid Love”, with looks designed by a series of emerging creatives.
