Video: #Cop mistakenly shoots suspect’s mom during fight The deputy recognized the suspect in video footage from a store that had called about a theft, according to the sheriff’s office. She had been to the house earlier that day for a domestic incident when the man, Kaiser, tried to take his mother’s purse to buy beer, according to Capt. Tim Brown. When the deputy returned to the house in Greer, she asked Kaiser if he had been to the store, Brown said in the video. When he said yes, she began reading Kaiser his rights before he went back inside the house. The deputy tried to grab Kaiser, the video shows, but he pushed her away. “Do not grab me,” he said. The incident lasted about 10 minutes as Kaiser argued and struggled with the deputy. After the shooting, the other deputies arrived and handcuffed Kaiser, the video shows. Kaiser has been in the Greenville County Detention Center since the October incident, according to jail records. A judge gave him a $37,000 bond, but that has not been posted, court records show.
