Dolly Parton Teams Up With Galantis For Infectious Remake of 'Faith': Listen

Dolly Parton joined forces with Galantis and Mr. Probz for a dance-ready remix of John Hiatt’s 1987 hit song “Faith,” out today (Oct. 25). Putting her own interpretation on the track, Parton transforms the original piano ballad into a club jam with the help of Swedish EDM duo Galantis and Dutch rapper Mr. Probz.
Thumping beats and hand-clapped rhythms replace the piano for a sing-along earworm that will no doubt soar on the dance floor. Mid-song, Parton’s familiar vocals enter the remix and provide welcomed inspiration to the dance-ready track.
Parton hinted at her forthcoming collaboration with Galantis during a press conference at the Grand Ole Opry on Oct. 12, where she was celebrating 50 years as a member. When asked about future music, Parton name-dropped two Christian acts before revealing her feature with Galantis.
“I have a song out now with a Christian group out of Australia. They are called for KING & COUNTRY and the song is called ‘God Only Knows.’ And then I’ve got a new single coming out right after the first of the year with Zach Williams, who is one of the new Christian artists called ‘There Was Jesus,’” she said. “I have another song that's going to drop right away, a few days before the CMAs, and it is called ‘Faith.’ It’s a great old song. I have that one out with a group called Galantis which I’m singing with a guy named Mr. Probz.
“This world is just so dark and ugly and awful... so I'm going to make it my business to try to do songs that are more uplifting, not all Christian-based songs, but songs about better things. Do better, and have a little more love, a little more light and don’t be so dark and dirty,” she conceded.
