Emmy Awards 2019: Halsey Sings Stirring Cover of Cyndi Lauper's 'Time After Time' For In Memoriam Tribute

Halsey sang a soft and stripped-down version of one of Cyndi Lauper's most beloved ballads at the 2019 Emmy Awards on Sunday (Sept. 22).

The pop star took the stage at Los Angeles' Microsoft Theater in a dramatic black evening gown, and was accompanied by a pianist for her moving and subdued performance of "Time After Time" for the ceremony's in memoriam segment.

 

This year's tribute honored renowned director John Singleton, actress, director and producer Penny Marshall, Broadway and film icon Carol Channing and a number of formidable talents in television who've passed in the last year.
