Blink-182 'Locked Down' in Hotel Following El Paso Shooting

8/3/2019 by Hilary Hughes

Mark Hoppus and his bandmates in blink-182 are "locked down" in their El Paso hotel room following a shooting that resulted in multiple fatalities at a nearby shopping center.

On Saturday (Aug. 3), Hoppus tweeted that he was en route to a mall when his security team informed him that there was an active shooter near their destination. They returned to their hotel, where news of another shooting in the area broke: "over the intercom system they just announced that there are reports of another active shooter directly across the street at a location different from the first shootings."

CBS News reports that local law enforcement indicated there were two shooters at a Walmart near El Paso's Cielo Vista Mall, and that there were multiple deaths from the attack, which took place early Saturday afternoon.

blink-182 are currently on tour with Lil Wayne, and scheduled to play El Paso's Don Haskins center on Sunday (Aug. 4).
