Rapinoe's World Cup has to be up there with the greatest all-time talk-and-back-it-up performances in sports history. Tangle with a President and win World Cup and MVP? A socially conscious athlete pilloried for patriotism? No one will *ever* be Ali, but there's Ali in Rapinoe.

Amazing game !!!!!!! - KU@USWNT
even when i played sports (which i did as a kid), i found national team sports culture noxious. that being said: my heart is exploding with pride at the women’s #WorldCup news. it used to be that men’s baseball and history exploded upwards together. now...watch. ----♥️--#EqualPay
