Tyler, The Creator, Megan Thee Stallion & Denzel Curry Conquer The "FIRE EMOJI" Playlist

DMT.NEWS #music

During the week that was Sunday the 12th through today, the hip-hop establishment was treated to a good number of delicacies - beyond what was expected of Megan Thee Stallion, Tyler, the Creator, and to a lesser extent, DJ Khaled and his 11th banner project. For one thing, no one was quite sure how to read into Tyler's IGOR before it dropped - while it certainly doesn't fit the profile of a conventional rap album (he doesn't even rap all that much on it), conversely-speaking, he did NOT disappoint. The duet with Playboi Carti was particularly endearing, as much as "I THINK" warranted a spot on our playlist in all its vulnerability.

Denzel Curry's inclusion on the FIRE EMOJI playlist this week, speaks to the replay value attributed to "Ricky," the single he dropped (along with a video) at the top of the month. DJ Khaled persistent approach saw him garner two spots on our list: "Wish Wish" with 21 Savage and Cardi B, and "Freak N You," the latter strong enough in composition to withstand a weaker-than submission from Lil Wayne. That's how freakishly good Weezy can be on a moment's notice.

Rounding out the list this week is Megan Thee Stallion, earning herself two spots with "Realer" and "Cash Shit" featuring DaBaby. London On Da Track presented the double entendre of "Throw Fits" with old buddy G-Eazy, Chance The Rapper dropped his best single in some time with "GRoCERIES," Injury Reserve snuck with BIG help from Freddie Gibbs, as did Young Dolph with his submission of "Crashin' Out."
