What’s the farthest you’ve ever travelled for a meal?
The team behind this video from Great Big Story travelled by plane, train and ferry to get to Rishiri Ramen Miraku. The renowned ramen shop on Rishiri Island is only open for two-and-a-half hours every day, but ramen aficionados flock there to get a taste of their one-of-a-kind food.
What makes it so special? The island’s unique Rishiri kelp gives the ramen dishes their unique flavor - as does the grilled soy sauce broth that can take up to 15 hours to make.
Watch the video to get a taste of more. Just make sure you have some food handy - preferably something you can slurp - because you’re going to be hungry.
