Nipsey Hussle Murder Case: Eric Holder's Lawyer Quits Over Death Threats

#news #blogger

Eric Holder's currently in police custody awaiting trial for the murder of Nipsey Hussle. After he was arrested, it was revealed that he got Christopher Darden, who famously served as the prosecutor on O.J. Simpson's case, to represent him in the case. However, Darden's controversial move to represent the alleged killer may have been too much to handle as he's announced that he'll be stepping down as Holder's defense attorney.

Chris Darden's filed a motion to be withdrawn from Nipsey Hussle's murder case as Eric Holder's counsel. Holder has a hearing today (Friday) in L.A.'s Superior Court but Darden said this will be the last time he'll be seen in court for this case.

Apparently, he's received a ton of death threats towards him and his family after he began to represent Holder. "I cannot understand why in 2019 some people would deny a black man his 6th Amendment right to counsel of his choice. Or why defending such a man should invite threats not only against me but against my children too," he said.

He continued to explain that the backlash he faced over the past month reminded him of the O.J. Case, adding, "Just as they were in 1995-Cowards never change. These days these cowards don’t send letters instead they sit anonymously behind keyboards threatening a man’s mother and children." He continued, "To those who issued those threats to my children please pay close attention so there is no misunderstanding. Later. FUCK YOU!"

At the beginning of his public statement, he said that he might disclose more information about his reason to step down which might indicate that it's deeper than just internet threats.
