Met Gala 2019's Very Strict & Militant Rules: Report

Vogue's Met Gala, formerly known as the Costume Institute Gala, might be one of the most anticipated nights of the year. Every first Monday of May, the rich and famous grace the red carpet with their most extravagant, pompous and glamorous looks. The annual fundraising gala celebrates a different theme each year which conjunctively ties with a new exhibit from New York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute.

While the gala has garnered much interest in the last years, with certain celebs snatching the spotlight every time (cough, cough, Rihanna). It still remains an exclusive soiree and as such not just anyone gets invited and if they do, guests must respect a set of strict and stringent rules.

Anna Wintour, Vogue's Editor in chief, remains very traditional and no-nonsense when it comes to the organized ball. A recent report by Fox News surveys the rules amongst the precise list mainly summarize to a no selfies or cellphone rule, to maintain the privacy of the event. Additionally, underaged guests are no longer allowed this year, despite previous attendance by Willow and Jaden Smith. Another interesting rule involves "no publicist" which goes onto reflecting the elitist nature of the party. Lastly, no introverts or anti-social behaviors are permitted. Wintour wants guests to mingle as much as they can.
