Boosie Badazz Arrested In Georgia, Faces Felony Gun & Drug Charges
It was just last week when Boosie Badazz dropped his album Badazz 3.5, and the rapper was enjoying having released a record that was well received by his fans until he had an unfortunate run-in with the law earlier today. The Lousiana native was driving through Newnan, Georgia when he was pulled over by police because they claimed the deputy noticed a white Dodge Charger swerving and nearly hitting another vehicle on a bypass, according to the Newnan-Herald Times.
After the vehicle pulled over in a Chick-fil-A parking lot, Sgt. Jeff Bugg approached the car and spoke with the driver who just happened to be Boosie, real name Torrence Hatch Jr. Also in the car was Antonio Allen, a former free safety for the New York Jets. Sgt. Buggs reportedly smelled a strong odor of marijuana and placed Boosie in the back of the police car while Allen stayed inside of the Charger.
After searching the vehicle, Bugg found approximately 11 grams of what's suspected to be marijuana and a loaded 9mm handgun. Both were located around Allen's seat. There was also a vape pen with suspected THC oil and a bag with a large sum of cash. Boosie reportedly told the officer that he was talking on the phone while driving and that Allen was his bodyguard.

Both men were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of a schedule one drug, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Boosie had an additional charge of failure to maintain a lane while driving. Both Boosie and Allen are currently in the Coweta County Jail.
Back in 2009, Boosie was sentenced to four years in prison over gun and drug charges for a similar incident. East Baton Rouge deputies found marijuana and a gun in his car then, too. The following year, Boosie was indicted on first-degree murder charges and later sentenced to eight years in prison for drug possession and intent to distribute. After spending three years on death row, he was found not guilty of murder in 2012. He spent five years in prison and was released in 2014, serving out his parole until 2018.
Allen currently has felony warrants out of South Carolina for firearm and drug charges, according to the Newnan-Herald Times. Bugg said charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon are pending for both men.
